Our venue is 18+ for most events. However, we occasionally host daytime showcases for young people and families, as well as Under-18s open mics. If you’re unsure, please check individual event listings, as age restrictions will be specified or contact us direct for further information.

We want everyone to feel welcome at our venue and events. The ground floor bar area is fully accessible, and a ramp is available for wheelchair access at the entrance.

Please note that our basement venue is accessed via a flight of stairs (approximately 16 steps) and is not wheelchair accessible. Toilet facilities are located on the first floor and require ascending two flights of stairs (approximately 16 steps), and are also not wheelchair accessible.

If you have any accessibility requirements or need additional support, please contact us in advance. Our team is committed to making your experience as comfortable as possible and will work with you to provide assistance and explore suitable options.

WaterBear MusicBar Tickets are available on our Live Music page under individual event listings. While promoters use various ticket sites for distribution, some tickets may also be available at the door.

No. We welcome everyone who’s interested in hiring the WaterBear MusicBar. You don’t have to be one of our students to put on an amazing event with us.

No. All shows that are advertised are open to everyone. Shows that are for strictly WaterBear Students won’t be advertised on our listings or promoted to the public. The Bar area is free to enter and open to everyone.

We don’t have regular opening hours. The bar area is open to the public on various evenings. Check our Live Music page or social media (@waterbearmusicbar) to find out when we are open and have gigs on.

The WaterBear MusicBar is a versatile live music venue for live Music bookings in Brighton, available for gigs, touring shows, club nights. We work with artists, touring bands, promoters, businesses and creatives to deliver memorable events in a professional, well-equipped music venue.
